Color Speed Game
See a color briefly, then match it fast. Each submit shows a clear result panel (target vs your guess).
Color Speed GameRound 1/5
Target (preview)
How it works
Each round starts with a short target preview. Then you use a simple wheel-style picker (hue + saturation/lightness) to recreate the color from memory.
The flow is always Submit → Result → Next, so you never lose the previous round’s outcome.
Daily (UTC) vs practice
Daily mode is the same worldwide per UTC date. Practice mode is unlimited and random, designed for quick warm-ups.
Want a slower, deeper memory challenge? Try Color Memory Game (5 colors).
Scoring (perceptual similarity)
Scores use an OKLab-based ΔE-like distance, which better matches human perception than plain RGB differences. A smaller ΔE-like value means your guess is closer.
If you want to understand the math, read ΔE & OKLab scoring explained.
Tips
- Turn off Night Shift / True Tone if you want more consistent results.
- Match lightness first (too bright/dark is the biggest error), then adjust hue, then saturation.
- On mobile, use your thumb to drag the saturation/lightness square — no tiny taps required.
FAQ
- What is a color speed game?
- A color speed game is a fast round-based color matching challenge: you briefly see a target color, then you try to recreate it from memory as quickly as you can.
- How is the score calculated?
- Your score is based on perceptual similarity (a ΔE-like distance in OKLab). Faster submissions can earn a small bonus, but accuracy still matters most.
- Is this a color vision test?
- No. It’s for fun and practice. Screen calibration, brightness, and room lighting change how colors look.
